2024 Fourwalls charity round up
For the last few years, Fourwalls has supported the charity, The Hope Hub, which is local to our Camberley HQ. The charity provides help and resources with the aim of preventing and ending homelessness and reducing poverty in our area of Surrey Heath.
As well as fundraising, our staff have also donated time and energy to the charity by helping around the charity’s day centre, upgrading the storeroom for the food bank and giving the place a facelift.
Supporting the hope hub
We’ve all loved helping The Hope Hub out with its goals over the past few years and we’ve been proud to partner with a local charity. For 2025, we’re partnering with a new charity with national reach, so that all of our staff in all corners of the country can get involved. Charity sports day
In September, our photography and floor plans teams got together to organise a charity sports day in the grounds of Frimley Lodge Park, a few miles from our office. It had all the childhood nostalgia of a school sports day, with rounders, egg and spoon races, wheelbarrow races, bean bag throwing and three-legged races, plus… badminton?
Sponsored walk
As the leaves turned in October, our HR and finance department organised a 10-kilometre sponsored walk in support of The Hope Hub. It was a great day out in the fresh air and a chance for us all to get together outside of work. The walk took us around the beautiful town of Hartley Wintney, a few miles from our HQ, and fortunately the weather was on our side though a number of us didn’t quite prepare for the enormous puddles with appropriate footwear!
Sprint triathlon with a twist
Also in October, our team for the South East region took on the challenge of a sprint triathlon with a twist – an added hike! Not content with the three disciplines that make up the triathlon, they added an additional element for an extra challenge. This involved a five-kilometre run, a 750-metre swim, a three-kilometre hike and a 20-kilometre bike ride.
Pet photoshoot
Our photographers decided to do what they do best: take photos! This was by far our most popular event as it included our furry friends; we’re a dog-friendly office anyway, but any opportunity to bring our four-legged buddies into the office is a sure-fire win. Fortunately there were no, um, ‘accidents’, and a good day was had by all and lots of funds raised for The Hope Hub. The pooches seemed to love it too, with each shoot including a treat and some cute props. We hope you love the photos as much as we do.
Virtual pub quiz
The North Region team took us back to the days of the Covid lockdowns with a virtual pub quiz on Teams. Tom and Phil put a huge amount of effort into organising the quiz and came up with some fantastic questions – the rest of us proved that we’re not the best at quizzes, but a great time was had by all.
Halloween dress up
Our Creative team exercised their, ahem, creativity, with a dressing up day for Halloween. Members of staff came to the office dressed as ghosts, ghouls, witches and a scarecrow. While we can’t say anyone was particularly terrifying, it did make for some interesting conversations in the lift of our communal office building…
Christmas bingo baubles
Carrying on with the success of our Teams ‘Pub Quiz’, our Surveys and Sales teams joined forces to host an online bingo session before we started our wind down to the festive period. With an extra day of annual leave up for grabs as the top prize, the competition was fierce. The first person to shout “baubles!” won the prize.
Charity collection for The Hope Hub food bank
At our annual Open House event in December – a one-day extravaganza where the whole company comes together – we had a collection for The Hope Hub’s fantastic food bank. This amazing resource fulfils food parcels, breakfast and lunch at the charity’s day centre and evening meals at the emergency accommodation.
For this collection, we all brought in food items that would be used in the food bank as well as special Christmas items that would be distributed to people experiencing homelessness over the festive period, who were housed in local hotels by The Hope Hub. From mince pies to loo roll, tinned veg to favourite snacks, the table absolutely groaned with donations and we’re really glad that we were able to provide this to The Hope Hub.
Charity bake sale
No fundraising calendar is complete without a sugary treat, and our Operations team saved the best until last by capitalising on the high turnout for our company Open House event. Blondies, brownies, cookies and cakes were on offer, and our always-hungry team cleaned out the lot before heading off to our Christmas party in the evening.
Thank you to The Hope Hub for being a great partner to us over the last few years. It’s been fun, and we’ve loved supporting you in so many different ways.
